Campus Prep
Outdoor Classroom
St. Croix Prep Foundation is currently raising funds to create an outdoor classroom adjacent to the prairie in front of the main school building. This classroom will be accessible to all. Teachers will be able to incorporate activities in the outdoor classroom across all grade levels at St. Croix Prep. The classroom will also tie into the new Discovery Trail.
Discovery Trail
The Discovery Trail take advantage of the beautiful natural areas on St. Croix Prep’s 58-acre campus. The 1.75 mile trail offers opportunities for walking and new programming at St. Croix Prep, including cross-country running or skiing, trail cycling, and snow shoeing. The trail construction also improves safety for students walking to school by relocating the path away from the school’s driveway and parking lot.
In November 2022, St. Croix Preparatory Academy and the St. Croix Prep Foundation combined efforts in a groundbreaking ceremony for the Discovery Trail. The Foundation contributed ~$40,000 towards the construction of the Discovery Trail. This donation was made possible through our 2021 Give to the Max campaign.
The Discovery Trail will be formally opened during the St. Croix Prep Marathon on Friday, April 28, 2023.
Matthew Parratt Dugout Memorial
In honor of St. Croix Prep baseball parent Matthew Parratt, who tragically passed away during his son Ryan’s junior year in May 2020, the St. Croix Prep Foundation accepted donations to improve the facilities at St. Croix Prep’s home field at Barkers Alps in Bayport, Minnesota. The Matthew Parratt Dugout Memorial received almost $8,000 in donations from the Prep community and Matt’s friends and family.
The covered dugout project was a grass roots effort. In addition to generous donors, many others deserve thanks for making the project a reality, including the city of Bayport and the many volunteers in the Prep baseball family who donated time and labor to get the dugouts built.
The Matthew Parratt Dugout Memorial was completed and dedicated during the 2021 baseball season prior to his son Ryan’s graduation from St. Croix Prep.
